The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking you to keep fellow drivers and officers safe by following the Move Over law. Ohio law requires all drives to move a lane over when approaching a car with flashing lights. If moving over isn't possible, drivers should slow down and proceed with caution. "The main thing people need to remember is it's a safety and courtesy thing to the people that are out there on the roadway trying to keep our roadways safe. It's more than just law enforcement," said Sergeant Michael Seabolt of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The FBI says that from 2006-2015, over 90 police officers across the United States were hit by a car and killed while working.
